Admin can enable “Protect First Draft” feature for applications of choice. It means that the selected applications (e.g. MS Excel) can be ONLY used under Curtain Protection. In this example, when users try to launch non-Protected Excel, the Excel will be launched under Curtain Protection automatically. All new Excel documents can be only saved to Protected Zone (that is why the function is called "Protect First Draft"). 

When users try to open non-Protected documents, the documents will be automatically opened in Protected application. If users do modifications to those files, they can only save the files to Protected Zone. Or, users can simply copy them to Protected Zone by Copy-and-Paste or Drag-and-Drop before editing the files. 

Both e-Locker and Monguard r supports English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. We can support more languages upon request.

Steps to switch language in Mongaurd / e-Locker Client:
1. Launch Client Application
2. Click "View > Language" in the menu and select a Language.

2. Click "Language" in the menu and select a Language. 

Yes, both e-Locker and Monguard supports VPN. When users are out of office, they can connect to corporate network through VPN. For accessing Protected share folder, Curtain Client must be installed in the users' workstations or notebooks. It is just the same as accessing Protected share folder in office environment. 

 
Some companies may use DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) to assign IP address of users' workstations. Moreover, some users may have rights to change hostname of their workstations. Both approaches do not affect Curtain e-locker protection. When Curtain Client has been installed on user's workstation, a unique token will be generated for that workstation. This unique token is used for communication between Curtain Admin and Curtain Client of that workstation. Therefore, control policy for the workstation will not be affected even when IP address/hostname is changed. 

Yes, blocking USB port and Internet access can reduce the risk of data leakage. However, there are so many ways for sending information out. For example: 

• Print 
• Print-screen or Capture-screen software 
• Copy and Paste 
• EmailWi-Fi or Bluetooth (using mobile phone as hotspot) 

• Skype, Whatsapp, WeChat 
• and the list goes on... 

Some companies are trying to block all channels to prevent data leakage. However, it is difficult for system administrators to setup and maintain so many controls. Moreover, it is inconvenient for end-users to work without email, Internet, whatsapp, and USB nowadays.

Administrators can enable Password Protection for removing Curtain Client to enhance the security. Uninstall of e-Locker and Monguard is also easy because it does not encrypt any files on the server.

With password protection enabled, administrator can uninstall easily by:

1.Select workstations and right click to choose "Generate Client Uninstall Password"

2. In corresponding workstation,  uninstall Curtain Client in Windows Control Panel.

3. Enter the uninstall password and Click "OK" to proceed.
